Sunscreen:  We recommend, for young children over six months of age, a product with a combination of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.  Examples include: Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunblock Lotion with an SPF of 60, Sun Smart Maximum Protection Sunscreen with an SPF of 30,   Aveeno Baby Continuous Protection Sunblock with an SPF of 55 and Johnson’s Baby Daily Face & Body Lotion. We also recommend a baby blanket.
For a nondrying total body skin disinfectant, we recommend CLn Body Wash.  This is similar to using a bleach bath but without the dryness.  Available at: www.clnwash.com

Drinking Water in Eastern Suffolk County: The Suffolk County Health Department can test well water for homeowners, analyzing for 350 substances and recommending remedial action if needed. For information call 631-852-5789. The fee AS OF June 2009 is $100 for this service.
If you want to know what, if any, contaminants are in your drinking water, check the annual water quality report from your water supplier or call the water supplier directly.
